Harbour’s End pathway paved!
On March 28th and 29th, Partners Creating Pathways oversaw the paving of a short but very significant stretch of the Ganges Village Pathway Network.
With hearty thanks to CRD Active Transportation funding, islanders and visitors can now walk and wheel safely along the view side of the road looking over Ganges Harbour, keeping mostly separate from vehicular traffic. A new kiosk has been built seaside of the pathway, to feature three vital components of local history: First Nations, first settlers, and the beauties and bounties of nature on Salt Spring.
We can’t thank enough the volunteers who put in uncounted, long hours laying the path bed, designing and building the kiosk, and sharing their endless, infectious good spirit.
Here’s a peek at paving in progress. Many more shots to come of the handsome new pathway in use.
